Community Involvement

Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. recognizes the importance of supporting its community and is dedicated to giving back through its charitable initiative, Crawford Cares. Each year, Crawford employees organize and participate in fundraisers such as silent auctions, charity barbecues, casual Fridays and optional payroll deductions, all benefitting Crawford Cares.

Each year Crawford Employees choose one or two charities to benefit from the funds they raise. Since 2004, The Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) has been chosen as the charity of choice. Since then, Crawford Cares has raised over $325,000 for WICC. In 2010, SickKids hospital was also recently selected as a charity of choice for Crawford Cares.

Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. is proud to have been a WICC National Sponsor since 2004. We applaud WICC and the P&C industry's dedication to the eradication of this terrible disease.

About WICC
WICC was established in 1996 to mobilize the Canadian insurance industry in the fight against cancer by focusing on cancer research, support and education. Not only is WICC dedicated to raising funds for cancer research, WICC also provides educational forums for the industry on how to support those affected by the disease. Please visit their web site at www.wicc.ca for more information.

Relay for Life
In 2009, Crawford added the Relay for Life to its list of employee events. This 12-hour, overnight walk organized by the Canadian Cancer Society brings people together to remember and celebrate those touched by cancer as they work towards finding a cure.

Since then, the even has grown every year. "Our success with Crawford Cares is amazing and it is all due to our employees' hard work, dedication and persistence," said Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc.'s CEO John Sharoun. "I would like to thank all of our employees and clients who have supported us for their time, generosity and commitment to this incredibly important cause that touches us all."

Here in Canada, events are held in cities across the country. Employees participate in projects such as tree planting, serving food to the homeless, collecting used clothing and donating blood.
